Subjunctive class[edit]

@Mellohi! What's the evidence this had an s-subjunctive in PC? —Mahāgaja · talk 08:34, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Likewise *kʷrinati. —Mahāgaja · talk 08:35, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Mahagaja: All a-subjunctives came from Proto-Celtic s-subjunctives. It started from -RH roots where the laryngeal was vocalized (e.g. *kʷrinati), and then spread analogically. The -s- in the a-subjunctives then disappeared in the daughter languages because the -s- stood between two vowels. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 16:55, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
So you don't think beraid is a match with Latin ferat? —Mahāgaja · talk 17:33, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
That connection has been rejected for ages as coincidental. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 18:17, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
