*𐌱𐌴𐍂𐌹𐌻𐍃[edit]

@Mnemosientje:, the 3 Germanic entries for "barrel" began as one, then they were split out. I believe this Gothic was hypothesised for Vulgar Latin or Old French from the Etymology of English barrel, so the justification would have been Old French baril, bareil. At the time the PGmc was created, all of these were moved to that entry, then I was advised that the Gothic would not be possible from *barilaz and therefore needed to be moved to its own entry, and voilà. Unfortunately, no hypothesised descendants were moved so it left it descendantless. I'm not sure if we still need this entry now though. Leasnam (talk) 18:52, 10 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Leasnam: Neither am I, so up to you if you want to keep it. The current state of the entry is unclear, in any case - if it is kept, there probably needs to be a clearer basis for reconstruction visible in the entry. — Mnemosientje (t · c) 10:03, 11 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
