Regarding diff:

  • Wikipedia is no reliable and not really a durably archived source.
  • archive.org/stream/vollstndigesw00schwuoft#page/38/mode/2up (Mecklenburg-Vorpommersch) gives Low German Gördel = German Gurgel. As a dictionary, it's only a mentioning, but the term does indeed occur in Fritz Reuter's work, though maybe not revealing gender.
  • www.platt-wb.de/hoch-platt/?term=G%C3%BCrtel (Ostfriesisch) gives German Gürtel = Low German Gürtel, and does not have a Low German word Gördel.

But well, it appears that in the (North) West, Low German Gördel = German Gürtel does exist:

  • [1] - is sufficient for attestation
  • Henneke Knecht (MLG or NLG?, Ostfälisch)

Maybe Low German Gürtel is attestable too?

  • [2] - ungood e-book version
  • [3] - "keen Geld in den Gürtel" = "kein Geld im Gürtel" (Marcus 6, 8), which should be sufficient for attestation
