@Leasnam Hey, wondered how one can be sure that this is indeed an i-stem. I haven't consulted many sources yet, but it seems the Gothic adjective could also be an a-stem adjective based on the inflected form. — Kleio (t · c) 22:38, 28 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi. The source I used (Gerhardt Koebler) says it's -i, as does Bosworth & Toller. I don't see a Gothic descendant of this word. Only skeirs for *skīrijaz. Do you have a Gothic form that fits this ? Leasnam (talk) 03:44, 29 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Having another look at this, I'm not sure what I was getting at here. I was probably a bit confused regarding skeirs, but it makes no sense that that would be descended from this -- though our etymology on that page does claim so, I think that's an error. — Kleio (t · c) 11:29, 5 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
