Blatantly inaccurate reconstruction[edit]

Germanic form *drōhs plainly points to PIE *dʰreh₂ks. Request to move to *dʰreh₂ks. Saph668 (talk) 22:38, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Or move to *dʰreh₂gʰs as that seems to be the underlying source. Saph668 (talk) 22:42, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
The descendants require an *ā ~ *a paradigm. Zero-grade *-reh₂- would become syllabic resonant *-r̥h₂-, which doesn't work for the other derivatives. --{{victar|talk}} 20:36, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Should the Germanic desc be marked as uncertain? I don't see any other plausible derivations for it, given the *ō. Also, Orel doesn't even have an entry for the word in his Handbook of Germanic Etymology, nor Kroonen in Etymological Dictionary of Proto-Germanic. Saph668 (talk) 22:06, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
PIE and *eh₂ both yield PG . --{{victar|talk}} 22:43, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ah, nevermind then. Saph668 (talk) 23:27, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
