Non-Slavic construction[edit]

I should mention that the construction *-riti encountered in Bulgarian катеря (katerja) (and related to Proto-Slavic *govoriti, Bulgarian жабуря (žaburja, to quake), Bulgarian гъбаря (gǎbarja, to mock), Bulgarian мочуря (močurja, to form a swamp), etc.) is not innately Slavic. It was probably borrowed from Paleo-Balkan or is a rare remnant of the Caland derivation system in Proto-Indo-Euraepan. The stem-root Proto-Slavic *katati, however, is intrinsically Slavic. It is preserved in multiple daughter languages. Bezimenen (talk) 11:45, 24 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
