́I'm not going to argue against Derksen, but the -u- root vowel in Baltic cognates may actually stem from Proto-Indo-European *ǵwelH- (“to burn”), whence Lithuanian žvìlti, žvèlti (“to burn”). I'm leaving this info just for consideration. Безименен (talk) 13:27, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
