Descendants[edit]

This verb only has one ancient Descendant in Old Norse snerkja (to pull together) Leasnam (talk) 02:28, 17 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Uncertainty[edit]

@Sokkjo, unlike *fnoʀukōn, which I feel more comfortable with, a reconstruction of *fnaʀukōn has some difficulties. One is the short vowel a + ʀ, which doesn't make sense to me. *fnasukōn or *fnāʀukōn would make sense. Alternatively, could this be from *snarrōn (to buzz, hum, drone, snarl) + -ukōn/-ikōn instead, and influenced by *fnoʀukōn in meaning due to being similar-sounding ? What do you think ? OHG gisnarhōn (to snore) is attested, so a reconstruction with fn- is not possible for this term. Leasnam (talk) 05:46, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
