Etymology[edit]

From Latin Rosālia, possibly through the South Slavic intermediate rusalija and Byzantine Greek ρουσάλια (rousália), although this presents some phonetic difficulties, such as the preservation of the -l-, which would normally disappear in this case.

Noun[edit]

Rusalii f pl (normally plural, singular Rusalie)

  1. (Christianity) Whitsuntide; Pentecost
