Etymology[edit]

Adapted from Medieval Latin solidāgō, soldāgō, a comparatively rare interpretation within the textual corruption complex cōnsolida, consolda, cōnserva, cōnferva, cōnfirma denoting comfrey (Symphytum officinale), whose name was transferred to the “woundwort”, European goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea, as equally used to treat lesions.
