@Atitarev, Cinemantique, Wikitiki89 What is предо- here? Is it a recognized (if rare) prefix (and if so, what does it mean?), is it a variant of пред- used before certain consonant clusters (and if so, why is there also представить?), or is it a combination пре- + до-? - It's пре- + доставить, which in turn is до- + ставить. I wouldn't say it's directly пре- + до- + ставить. --WikiTiki89 18:51, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- No, this is предо- + ставить. предо- is a variant of пред-, doing something beforehand, in advance, putting something forward, here it means as if putting something abstract (like a chance) in front of someone.
