Etymology[edit]

So who came up with the etymology that райдуга hints at the Latin word radius? Surely a much more logical explanation is that рай is the word for paradise (heavens above). PametUGlavu (talk) 16:07, 18 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Actually the most probable explanation is from the word рад (glad), compare dial. весёлка (rainbow) from весел (according to Vasmer). 188.16.26.86 19:36, 2 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
