@Vahagn Petrosyan Your recording sounds like kɑʁɑɾtʰ, but the IPA is voiced d? Hovsepig (talk) 23:34, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Hovsepig: The voiced pronunciation is nowadays certainly considered the standard one in this word and in լուրջ (lurǰ). I was aiming for [kaxaɾd]. If it came out as [kaxaɾtʰ], it may be because of the process described by Asatryan in articles [1] and [2]. It is also possible that the trilling of the [r] makes a difference. In both words, the trill is colloquially ubiquitous. I have now recorded these words with a trill: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Vahagn_Petrosyan. Is there a difference? @Vahagn Petrosyan: would it be fair to say that [kɑʁɑɾtʰ] and [luɾtʃʰ] are colloquial pronunciations? If so, I think it would be useful to put them as coll pronuncations for EA. Hovsepig (talk) 20:21, 13 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes for կախարդ, especially since Ačaṙyan recorded it in Yerevan as կախարթ. Not sure about լուրչ. Seems uncommon. Vahag (talk) 21:13, 13 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
