The Hebrew word for the verb "to slaughter" is לִטְבּוֹחַ (lit'boakh). טֶבַח (t'evakh) is a noun for "slaughter" or "massacre". טָבַח (t'avakh) is a verb, but in past tense, third person (male). טַבָּח (t'abakh) is a noun for a cook (who prepares meals).
