Talk:مردم

I know it means "people" in the sense of "persons". Does it also mean "people" in the sense of "nation"? And if not, how is the plural (mardomān/-hā) used? Is it constructed as a singular or as a plural (mardom ast or mardom hastand)? Can it be used with numbers (čehār mardom)? All these things would be interesting for me personally, but should also be added in a usage note. Thanks in advance!
