Etymology 1[edit]

@शब्दशोधक The Persian word must be خنک (xonak). According to http://rekhtadictionary.com/meaning-of-khunuk, the Hindi spelling is ख़ुनुक (xunuk). The closest entry in {{R:hi:McGregor}} is:

ख़ुनकी (xunkī) [P. k͟hunukī]
f. coolness, slight chill (in air)

with the suffix -ई () (from Persian ـی (-i)) and without the second . Depending on your analysis of the term, you could either put {{alternative form of|hi|ख़ुनुक}} or {{alternative form of|hi|ख़ुनकी}} on this entry. Kutchkutch (talk) 10:40, 24 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Kutchkutch: Well, I think, in that case, it's best to remove that sense since ख़ुनुकी/ख़ुनकी(abstract feminine noun from adjective ख़ुनुक + -ई#Etymology 3 -> कनक seems quite weird. Also, I have noticed many times {{R:hi:Dasa}} gives such weird senses and the Hindi Wiktionary (as far as I notice) is kind of just a copy of it, so it also gives that sense. 🔥शब्दशोधक🔥 11:24, 24 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
