Northern Thai แพง (rup pariwat form)

@Octahedron80 has argued for the deletion of this word in Wiktionary:Grease_pit/2019/November, saying

กำแปง should only exist for แปง because we read that. I mean แพง (transliteration) for nod should not be there. You may see Northern Thai, Southern Thai, and Isan lemmas categories at my wiki, we (almost) spell Thai script as real sound (some may need cleanup). If we had not done that, all lemmas would have fallen back on central Thai every word, and transcription might be mislead visitors how to read.

He had already removed the entry. I disagree with its deletion and have restored it, and made the deletion a formal request rather than resort to an edit war. --RichardW57 (talk) 23:56, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Alifshinobi has argued that for the Northern Thai Wikipedia, the better writing system in the Thai script is the 'rup pariwat' system. The spelling of the 'rup pariwat' system is closely aligned with the Lanna script spelling, rather as the Latin- and Cyrillic-script spellings of Serbian are aligned. Wiktionary supports both Latin and Cyrillic lemmas for Serbo-Croat. --RichardW57 (talk) 23:56, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

From what I have seen, there are greater differences than in Serbian. The rup pariwat rules for choosing between bo bai mai and po pla tend to align with the rules of Siamese rather than the practice of the Lanna script, and the rules for writing implicit vowels are those of Siamese rather than those of the Lanna script. --RichardW57 (talk) 23:56, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

I want to cancel the deletion. Please ignore my improper action. Also please call it as transliteration instead of 'rup pariwat'. --Octahedron80 (talk) 03:04, 19 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
