Pronunciation[edit]

@Mahagaja, Hintha: The "*" symbol didn't achieve the desired effect and it's pronounced /bjḭ~/, not /bɹḭ~/, anyway? --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 09:20, 5 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

The typical pronunciation would be /bəɹḭtḭʃa̰/. Burmese speakers with stronger command of English may clip the last syllable. --Hintha (talk) 06:27, 8 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Hintha, Mahagaja: Thanks, please check my latest respelling in diff: it now gives /bəɹḭtḭʃə/ and /bəɹḭtḭʃ/. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 06:44, 8 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
For the sound /ʃ(ə)/ I've changed 'ဗ'*ရိတိလျှ' to a more modern and standard respelling: ဗ'*ရိတိရှ' . --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 06:50, 8 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
OK, but Hintha said above that the last syllable is typically /ʃa̰/, not /ʃə/. Native Burmese words never end in schwa; so I feel that we should be showing /bəɹḭtḭʃa̰/ first. —Mahāgaja · talk 09:18, 8 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
