Possible Etymology?[edit]

Could this be somehow related to Ottoman Turkish (or any other cognate/descendant) آل (al) meaning red (crimson) due to the color? Derivative of this word is ალისფერი (alisperi) which means Crimson(y) red, bright shining red. -Solarkoid (talk) 22:49, 23 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

You are an absolute genius. Alisperi surely couldn't be a derivative of ali, which is red, since it's fire! Not to mention that the use of ali in Georgian literature precedes Seljuk invasions. 82.211.179.11 06:07, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Could you be more condescending? I admit that makes sense. Could you find the earliest attestation of ალი in Old Georgian literature? That would help instead of just straight up deleting the etymology... Thank you.
Also about ალისფერი that's exactly what I said? I compared the Ottoman Turkish meaning to the Georgian derived word (As mentioned from ალი) meaning. Seriously dude just chill
