Usage notes and synonyms[edit]

@Eirikr For the usage notes, where would ラフ (rafu) and 下描(したが) (shitagaki) fit in? —Suzukaze-c (talk) 05:32, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Suzukaze-c: I'm most used to ラフ (rafu) as a noun (in contexts related to this) used as a kind of short form for either ラフドラフト (rafu dorafuto) or ラフスケッチ (rafu suketchi). Are you aware of other senses relevant to デッサン (dessan)?
For 下描(したが) (shitagaki), this term is used perhaps the most broadly to refer to a rough-and-ready preparatory draft of something -- both writing and drawing, anything where () (kaku) is the right verb. For the usage notes in the デッサン (dessan) entry, I think 下書き is synonymous with 下絵. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 00:05, 9 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Eirikr: Pixiv Encyclopedia is evidence of rafu referring to drawings. —Suzukaze-c (talk) 00:18, 9 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Suzukaze-c: Ya, that site's examples appear to corroborate the use of ラフ (rafu) as short for either ラフドラフト (rafu dorafuto) or ラフスケッチ (rafu suketchi). So for the usage notes here at デッサン (dessan), I'd list ラフ (rafu) as a synonym alongside スケッチ (suketchi). ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 00:26, 9 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
