Sense "to pilfer food; to steal and eat the food"

[edit]

@Wyang Could you give an example of the sense "to pilfer food; to steal and eat the food"? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 18:55, 7 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

This? It is literary as well. I split it into two senses 'to eat on the sly' (when others are not watching, as in here; 偷 = stealthily) and 'to steal food to eat' (when the food does not belong to oneself; 偷 = to steal). Do you think they should be merged Justin? Wyang (talk) 19:50, 7 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
I think they could stay separate. I was asking because I didn't feel like "to pilfer food; to steal and eat the food" is commonly used in Cantonese colloquially. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 22:42, 7 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
