@Atitarev Sorry for asking you about a really old edit, but do you remember where you got the Shanghainese reading? @ND381, do you know if both the nyin and zen readings are used in this word? General rule of thumb is that if it’s referring to something not commonly used in the lect, something vaguely scientific, or something regarding one who is of higher social standing, you use literary readings
Nouns (and pronouns) start sandhi chains but if there’s an adjective the noun would stick an adjective chain 義順 (talk) 00:27, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

I have also asked around as to how others pronounce this term and of the four people I’ve asked, three exclusively use zen6, while one uses both gnin6 and zen6. Perhaps adding something like "w_note=2me nyin - rarer" could be considered 義順 (talk) 03:50, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
