Variant name[edit]
Comparing the variant name 黑孜韋 to 黑孜葦, I get the impression that the first name is too much of a stark, barebone transliteration, whereas the second name gives you an impression of the area- the depression is likely to have more plants than nearby desert areas, hence the 草字頭 component. This factor may have influenced the selection of the name for the township and hence "gloss" may not be enough to describe the etymology correctly. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 16:22, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
