Lack of citation[edit]

This entry asserts "Cognate to Turkish ben ‎(“I”), the only modern Turkic form preserving initial /b/", but does not support this claim with a citation. —Firespeaker (talk) 06:52, 4 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Well almost all Turkic languages have "men/min" rather than "*ben" due to the following nasal. Only exception would be chuvash эпӗ but it has again b->p. Perhaps I made a mistake by not adding Gagauz "bän". It is not an important topic, it is just interesting because Turkic does not tolerate word initial /m/.I think we can citate it from lars johanson's "turkic languages" book. List of cognates can also be seen in the reference given in the turkish entry--Anylai (talk) 17:13, 5 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
