Post-medieval period[edit]

Certain users delete this meaning, taken from an academic book about Albanian history.

(in late Middle Ages Balkans) a) A speaker of Albanian language. b) A person from Albania, independently of his/her language. c) A person from rural area.<Schmitt Oliver Jens, "(2009), Skanderbeg: Der neue Alexander auf dem Balkan", p. 354.>

Does anybody believe that this must be excluded from the dictionary? --Skylax30 (talk) 10:32, 17 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

And again, as I said earlier, the book simply mentions that someone used the term Albanian once and then said it didn't refer to the nationality. Everything else is pure speculation, and if three independent sources do not cover that usage, it is not worth including. You should seriously read WT:CFI. Also, it seems unlikely that a book written in German would contain English definitions. SemperBlotto (talk) 10:37, 17 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

The use of "Šiptar"[edit]

▪ The first part is about the Albanians and Albania from South-eastern europe/Balkan, the albanian language (an own branch of indo-european). ▪ Someone included the language of the Udi (Caucasus-Albanians) in this section. Which is wrong; bc they are two different ppl, different countries (note that Caucasus-Albania isn't a state, such a state does not exist in Caucasus, not anymore) and the languages are members of two total different language families. Udi (Caucasus-Albanian) is a member of > Northeast Caucasian languages. ▪ The part about Udi/Caucasus-Albania follows right AFTER the part about Albanians from Balkan. There was no need to include Caucasus-Albania in the Balkan Albanian part. Especially not since both are separate listed and explained. ▪ Also the fact that someone felt the pathetic need to add "Šiptar/ski" is extremly albanophobic. The official south-slavic term for Albanian is ALBANAC (people) and ALBANSKI (language). And NOT "Šiptar/ski"! IMIPER (talk) 01:54, 24 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
