Etymological notes[edit]
The actual chain of borrowings is a little unclear, so I'm just going to post some facts here. The following is a table of the translations of the six occurrences of עֲזַרְאֵל (ʿăzarʾēl) and three occurrences of עַזְרִיאֵל (ʿazrīʾēl) in various translations of the Bible. The verse numbers may be off by one depending on the particular version.
