Lumbardhia, do you have modern sources for your etymology? This isn't the first time I've seen you remove a referenced etymology in favor of [what modern references consider] a folk etymology (e.g. diff). Is this coming from a desire to have as many words as possible be transparent native formations (like some Turkish editors who try to revise as many things as possible to be native Turkish), or are there modern sources defending the 'folk' etymology that Catonif and I haven't spotted, or what? - -sche (discuss) 02:03, 21 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Albanian. Rfv-sense: "white star, icon". Was probably only added as a presumed original meaning, which is itself msot likely just folk etymology. Catonif (talk) 19:37, 18 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
