Don't know why this is protected. The word shouldn't be in the category "Derived from Old High German". As stated, it died out in High German and was introduced to Standard German entirely from Low German. The OHG is merely a cognate. The only native High German dialects that use this word are in East Central German, which are mixed dialects in colonial areas. In the west it exists in the very north, namely in Ripuarian, but only as a rarer synonym of "Fääsch" (= Ferse). 88.64.225.109 20:44, 14 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
