Talk:Hottentot

The first time I ever heard the term "Hottentot" was in "The Wizard of Oz," when the Cowardly Lion is reciting his "Courage" speech. At one point he says, "What makes the Hottentots so hot?" I never knew what it was until recently, but there seem to be several definitions. Does anyone know what he meant?

He means the African tribe. "Hot" suggests a warlike nature. Equinox ◑ 13:57, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
