It also sounds like English cavalier, Latin, Spanish, and Italian. We can't include an origin on the basis of what a word sounds like; we need evidence of its origin. Even if it does does from Frrench, did it come from modern French or from Old French? --EncycloPetey 21:05, 19 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
