I read this one from 1872 as leaning toward the "Russian Manchuria in Russia" meaning, but I'm not sure: [1] "has returned to Pekin by sea after visiting the ports on the seaboard of Russian Manchuria," --Geographyinitiative (talk) 22:30, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- By the way, the term "Russian Manchuria" (Русская Маньчжурия) in Russian may refer to Russian goldrush and later white-emigrant diaspora in Chinese Manchuria until 1945 (or even later) (like Russian Harbin, Zheltuga, Maoershan etc). Not sure if English does use this meaning, but it is very possible. Tollef Salemann (talk) 09:06, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
- It may also be relatively new term, because it was probably not used during Soviet time, and not before it, except some emigre-milieu maybe. So it is possible that English never got this meaning, as it is more used today (at least in a neutral context) Tollef Salemann (talk) 09:10, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
