I removed the citation from Whitney's Sanskrit Grammar because he used adaptation, not adaption (see s:Page:Sanskrit Grammar by Whitney p1.djvu/114). —Angr 09:01, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Actually used?

Is this word actually used by native speakers? The referenced The Century Dictionary lists it as rare; maybe this should be added to the Wiktionary entry as well. Pelzflorian (talk) 06:53, 11 July 2014 (UTC)

Yes, it's very rare, and I've added a note to that effect. Personally, I've only seen it used by Germans writing English or by English speakers who have spent too much time in German-speaking countries and have forgotten that the usual word is adaptation. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 15:21, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
