Talk:airship

I removed barrage balloon from the see also list because, in fact, barrage balloons are not airships. They can be neither propelled through the air nor steered as the definition of "airship" requires. Airships are free flying whereas barrage balloons are moored to the ground. It is true that barrage balloons do have a roughly airship shape, but their role in aviation is quite different. For more information, see the appropriate wikipedia entries. It may be more appropriate to add the "see also" to the "balloon" page. Blimpguy 21:52, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I've never heard of a barrage balloon before but I'd like to and that's just what the See also section is for. It's not for synonyms or near-synonyms, it's for anything that might be of interest in any way to somebody looking at this article. I'm replacing the link. — Hippietrail 11:58, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
OK, if you say so. For what it's worth, I'd link from airship to balloon then from balloon to barrage balloon. A direct link I think perpetuates the confusion between barrage balloons and airships. Blimpguy 27 June 2005 11:57 (UTC)
