@Julia Why did you remove information from the etymology? This is not our policy and I imagine many users would argue against its removal. Ultimateria (talk) 04:39, 6 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Ultimateria: I prefer the shorter etymologies because I think it's easier to keep track of information if we have as little redundancy as possible. Like if someone changes the etymology at Latin arbor to a different PIE root, we wouldn't have to change dozens of etymologies of its descendants. Julia 05:08, 6 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Julia: It's a valid point, but not a common issue from what I've observed. I had forgotten until just now that there was post in the BP about these edits of yours: Wiktionary:Beer parlour/2019/July#Further etymologies of borrowed terms. Carry on though, I guess; it seems like more editors prefer to keep it simple. I could be accused of removing information in plenty of my edits too.
