-Archy[edit]

Hello, does someone know if the word arch is figuratively from the meaning of -archy in for example "oligarchy". As there archy means rule, and if you see an arch, you see it is over your head. Like a government. Thanks if you know. Mallerd 15:29, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
