Two distinct computing senses[edit]

I just want to mention that the two computing senses are distinct. The first one is like a flag or switch, a varying value that can be set; and the second one is something you might decorate a method or property with, e.g. a special code item that indicates that something is obsolete. There is yet another computing sense, but I doubt it meets CFI because it's specific to the ZX Spectrum computer, which has a very unusual (memory-saving) screen display: the underlying pixels, or bitmap, are separate from the colour data, called "attributes" — this sometimes leads to weird colour clash on screen. Just thought I'd mention. Equinox 22:08, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like I actually added that too at some point. Equinox 02:09, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And I found a citation relating to IBM PCs, so it's broader than I thought. Equinox 04:05, 21 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Swapped pronunciation links[edit]

Done Looks like someone swapped the pronunciation links for the verb and noun. Fixed now.

RfC discussion[edit]

The computing noun sense contains typos, uses jargon, making it unclear, and has an example that seems to be for an attributive usage ("attribute set", if there is such a term). — Paul G 14:35, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
