Etymology of Indonesian balok[edit]

@Xbypass Are you sure about this[1]? It is also found in other languages as such Sundanese, so we cannot really be sure into which language the Dutch word was first borrowed. The epenthetic o in the final syllable makes me think it might have first been in use in one of the Low ('Bazaar') Malay varieties in the Dutch East Indies. –Austronesier (talk) 20:07, 7 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
