It is not english It is rathe Italian ward where the balsamic vinegar established in a town called almadin ( meaning the city in Arabic) The intercultural between the Roman and Middle Eastern has been for more than thousands of years, more than 4 Roman empires were Syrian, that is why you find with this two culture some meaningful words
