Failure to be verified means that insufficient eligible citations of this usage have been found, and the entry therefore does not meet Wiktionary inclusion criteria at the present time. We have archived here the disputed information, the verification discussion, and any documentation gathered so far, pending further evidence.
Do not re-add this information to the article without also submitting proof that it meets Wiktionary's criteria for inclusion.

A small number of mentions, but not a single use found in Google Books - it supposedly being archaic New York slang hinders the scope, but there was nothing in New York Times archive either. Good luck! Notusbutthem (talk) 12:47, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

This only shows the limitation of the Google corpus. This Dutchism dictionary has one quote and else refers to {{R:Bartlett Americanisms}} which had those words first hand and not copied from other dictionaries. Note also the similar vessel-name blickey, blicky which occurs until the mid-20th century. So I do not doubt this word occurs here and there durably archived, if only in personal correspondence, fitting our criteria of inclusion, but we may not find it but well assume it. We have two cites now, plus another meaning fully cited. Kiwima (talk) 01:59, 12 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
