Bokk is a very common word in Wolof in the senses of “to belong to something; to be part of” (intransitive) and “to share” (transitive). These senses are also given in the Dictionnaire wolof-français et français-wolof by Jean-Léopold Diouf. I speak Wolof more or less fluently but I have never encountered this word being used in the sense of “to cook”. Either this is simply a mistake or the meaning must be archaic or dialectal.

The reference given for this meaning is Omar Ka (2018) Nanu Dégg Wolof, National African Language Resource Center, page 100. I currently don't have access to this source. Maybe someone else can check it. — This unsigned comment was added by Wolophone (talkcontribs) at 10:55, 17 October 2021 (UTC).Reply

Since the page was created with this reference but only the sense “to cook”, this was undoubtedly an error, perhaps even a simple copy-and-paste error – the same editor had created the entry togg just before.  --Lambiam 08:27, 18 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for this information. Yes, for togg the meaning “to cook” is correct. In that case, it is very likely that this was a copy-and-paste error. I just checked the corresponding entry for bokk in the French wiktionary. There, too, only the senses “appartenir” and “partager” are listed. Can I just delete the obviously false sense “to cook” or should I wait for more comments? Wolophone (talk) 07:53, 20 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think you can safely delete it.  --Lambiam 09:47, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
