@Mar vin kaiser 1613 dictionary already declared specifically that it was from bula, and tubig though? Not even a "theoretically", or not even left it blank. Specifically "two words, bula and tubig". Even if it's a Spanish word, bula is also written in 1613. A lot of Spanish words were written in that dictionary too. Ysrael214 (talk) 10:00, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Mar vin kaiser Also the bulan without the -g makes sense in the context of the old dictionaries where Spanish friars don't put the -ng. For example Amansinaya, for Amang Sinaya. For which in Noceda dictionary, he corrected BULANG TUBIG.
By that point, the moon was already written as Bouan, so bulan being the moon may not be that likely as people think.

@Ysrael214: Thanks for this. I couldn't find though where it says it's from "bula", could you help me find it? Thanks! --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 14:18, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser San Buenaventura 1613 dictionary. Also written at the Further reading section. https://www.google.com.ph/books/edition/Vocabulario_de_lengua_tagala/A8QxAQAAMAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&printsec=frontcover&bsq=bulantubig Ysrael214 (talk) 14:20, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser For the connection why the color is named "water bubble", I really have no idea. I can only think of sea foam sometimes being orange/brown depending on areas. Ysrael214 (talk) 14:22, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Ysrael214: Thanks! This would mean though, I think, that the Spanish etymology of the word bula would be wrong, because if it exists in the 1613 dictionary, then it's kinda too early for the Tagalogs to borrow the word "bula" from Spanish, I think. Or at least, it's less likely. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 14:40, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Mar vin kaiser The bula was there already as espuma, let me add that to the bula entry. Ysrael214 (talk) 15:02, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
