Little strumpet!?[edit]
The etymology section of this entry is kind of funny. Why would anyone call their daughters or other female children "little strumpets"? Is that correct the way it is? Jesielt (user talk) 04:01, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- It's possible that caileag was formed prior to caile gaining its more derogatory implications; it feels more likely to me that it would be equivalent to the dated English term maiden, "little maid" -- the fair maidens playing in the field, and so forth.
