Distinction between covert and clandestine?[edit]

There is a technical difference between the government or military doing something covert and clandestine but I'm not convinced I have it straight. Can someone clear this up? JillianE 18:40, 25 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

according to Eric Weinstein (not a real source) about 45 mins into this Triggernometry vidcast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xkg3C8JDi_0
a "covert" CIA operation is secret, and if it get exposed, the CIA can sever any ties and has deniability
a "clandestine" operation is secret, but if it gets exposed, the CIA's fingerprints will be on it

aha, now I see this was asked and answered over at covert, but not with sourcing. 2603:8001:D3F0:87E0:0:0:0:10D0 07:42, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Freemasonry[edit]

Seems to be defined as a noun. DAVilla 16:58, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
