Rfv-sense adverb "(of a shot in snooker or other cue sports) With just enough weight for a ball to drop into a pocket, or come to rest in a precisely determined position". I'd like some proof that it's indeed an adverb. Canonicalization (talk) 20:28, 2 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

If it is not an adverb in the usage example, "He rolled the red in dead weight, and now he's nicely on the blue", then what PoS do you propose? Mihia (talk) 23:29, 6 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Mihia: See Wiktionary:Tea room/2020/February § dead weight for my reasoning. I now accept this is an adverb, but it would be good to have some quotes anyway. Canonicalization (talk) 10:54, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Okey-doke ... I also feel that "dead weight" is an adverb in that example sentence. Mihia (talk) 22:02, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
