Use in electronics[edit]
Missing is the use in (digital) electronics (an input signal's frequency is divided by a whole number to produce an output signal with a lower frequency). See Frequency divider (Wikipedia). Even though it is qualified with frequency, if the context is clear, then just divider is used.
