Talk:dog in the hunt

As a Southerner with rural roots,(Southeast Texas piney woods) "no dog in the hunt" was a common Southern Expression. Up into the 70's, dogs were used for driving deer in the piney woods in generally community hunts. What stopped the tradition was the proliferation of hunting leases in which hunting clubs discouraged the practice.
