http://www.londonslang.com/db/d/ suggests "dyke - lesbian. The term is used throughout the country and in the US etc. It is of unknown origin, but I like to think it comes from the story of the boy who stuck his finger in the dyke." — This comment was unsigned.

We shouldn't have dike and dyke just pointing at each other. Dyke started first, so let's park the definitions here pending a consensus to the contrary. — LlywelynII 18:57, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
