Pronunciation of extreme[edit]
- I think in some regions the people prefer the pronunciation [äks] (like in "extra") instead of [iks] (like in "fix") at the end.
- Some dictionaries say IX while others say EX. Some are contradictory they write IX and say EX in the sample.
- Google Translator reads it as IX but if I add "ly" it changes to EX. I dont know what to think.
- I learned it as IX but 2 English teachers told me it is EX. Can someone shed some light on it?
- Actually I saw in one dictionary "IX" is British English and "EX" is American English.
