Etymology[edit]

John Camden Hotten's Slang Dictionary (1873) suggests "a coarse allusion to burial", or "possibly a corruption of go to Grace". However, our sense of turning a horse out to pasture might be the origin. Equinox 09:30, 3 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
