I don't have an account or anything, but I don't think gossip is an archaic word and the categorization should be corrected.

I have heard it suggested that it's not really gossip if everyone you're talking with already knows about it. I tried to find a definition that that agrees with this but I could not. But is it really gossip if everyone already knows about it?
I would have thought so. Talking idly about other people's business is gossip. I might not know whether everyone else knows, or doesn't know, but I'd still be doing the same thing and saying the same words. The external state of the world doesn't change what I myself am doing. Thanks! I was wondering how someone could find out who knew about the gossip without accidentally sharing it with them.
